It is our great pleasure to introduce ourselves as Step 2 Bhutan Tours and Treks, a company of young and energetic professionals. Our founder, Namgay Dorji, has spent close to thirty years in the tourism trade and brings that experience to how every trip is put together.

Step 2 Bhutan is an inbound tour operator based in Bhutan's capital, Thimphu. The company was established to give a glimpse of the Himalayan Kingdom, known for its happiness, to visitors who are increasingly curious about its ancient culture and traditions, its spectacular environment, and a way of life that balances spirituality with material progress.

We are not just a travel agent or a tour operator selling packages. We are here to help arrange the trip you have had in mind, and to be that step towards making it happen. From a traditional village where you can see rural Bhutanese life at first hand, to the comfort of a high-end hotel; from soft hikes to treacherous treks. We build it around what you actually want.

Be our guest.

We run our own trips. Your guide and driver work for us, not for a subcontractor. If something goes wrong at 4,000 m, the person fixing it is someone we trained.

We tell you what a day actually involves. Six hours on a winding road is six hours on a winding road. We would rather you arrived knowing that than found out on the second morning.

Everything is adjustable. Every itinerary on this site is a starting point. Longer, shorter, slower, harder, or built from nothing around one thing you care about: say so and we will draft it.

We answer from Thimphu. Not a call centre, not an agent in another country. Usually within a day.
